What is it?
You make elixirs from herbs, mushrooms, berries and other raw materials. You’ll find Alchemy in your House and in the “Crafts” section. Every elixir you make gives Alchemy skill experience and XP.
How it works
You choose a recipe and make it. The raw materials are used up and the elixir appears in your inventory. If you are missing even one raw material, or inventory space, nothing happens and you lose nothing.
Alchemy doesn’t need the Stove – fire is needed only for Cooking.
Two types of elixir
Timed elixirs give an effect for a set time: more Strength, Defense, Hitpoints or crafting skill. Only one elixir of the same type works at a time – a second one replaces the first instead of adding to it. In your inventory they fit in one slot, however many you have.
Mana elixirs and food work instantly: food restores Hitpoints, a Mana elixir restores Mana. Each such portion takes its own inventory slot. So how much healing you carry into a fight is a real choice.

Where to start
First, learn to cook food on the Stove and to make the simplest elixirs – they directly extend every combat trip. Crafting elixirs will help when you want to level up your gathering skills faster.
